The meaning of this Arabic calligraphy is, “God's Blessings be upon Muhammad and the family of Muhammad". Muslims believe, the Prophet Mohammad (peace and blessings be upon him) received revelation from God through the Arch Angel Gabriel in around 600 AD. Muslims revere Prophet Muhammad as the last of the messengers sent by God to guide mankind. They usually include Muhammad in the name of their male children, sometimes as the first name other times as the middle name.
This is a 7X9 inches original piece on art paper by Muhammad Hassaan. The Arabic calligraphy in this piece is written using the traditional reed pen and black ink in the "Naskh" script. The off-white color of the background with the pre-printed roses and motives gives this piece a very vintage look.
There are some ink smudges on the paper (not an uncommon occurrence with original works of calligraphy)
